Let me explain the background of Devil Dust, so you may understand it's many uses. Being a "Pepper Head" I have, for many years, looked forward to the summer months so I could get out in the garden to cultivate my "pepper patch". As much as I loved the growing season, I loathed the winter months when all the pepper plants would perish. I had in my possession a vast collection of hot sauces ranging from mild to wild. These sauces would carry me through the harsh winters here in Waddy Kentucky, but were by no means a substitute for "the real thing". Having tried freezing peppers for future use, only to find they lacked the zest of the true pepper, I ended up dehydrating them for storage. After many years of trial and error, I think I have stumbled onto the "Pepper Head" answer to supply and demand. I have created a "Dust" of select peppers that maintain the zest and flavor of a fresh pepper, as well as being convenient for use on any number of foods one would not ordinarily put peppers in.
I have used Devil Dust for many years now, and I find new uses for it every day. In our quest for a healthier diet, my wife Kelley and I use Devil Dust in place of the salty alternatives. We add it to many dishes while cooking. We add it to our dry rubs for that added zing, and we also use it on my home made beef jerky. (Look for it soon in a store near you.) I have found over the years that I don't eat nearly as much hot sauce as I used to. As a matter of fact, I use Devil Dust on most everything I eat now. If you are a true pepper head, I feel you will enjoy the flavor, the heat, and the versatility of my product. Give it a try. I am sure you won't be disappointed.
